iPad os 26.2 makes my magic keyboard not work?

This morning I updated my 5th generation iPad Pro 12.9 to the latest version of iOS.

Once it completed, I noticed that my Magic Keyboard doesn’t work anymore.

Has anyone else had this problem? I tried cleaning the contacts and restarting. No luck.

Presumably you refer to the Magic Keyboard for iPad, this being explicitly designed for your iPad Pro - and not the standalone Magic Keyboard for Mac computers.

Updating your fifth generation iPad Pro M1 to the most recent version of iPadOS (at the time of writing, this being iPadOS 26.2) should not impact your compatible Apple Magic Keyboard.

Remove the iPad from the Keyboard - and carefully/gently clean the smart connector contacts on both the iPad and keyboard with a soft pencil eraser (a drafting-film eraser is ideal). Ensure that the contacts on both iPad and keyboard are dirt and dust free - and all debris from the eraser have been removed - before reconnecting the two.

I've had the same problem. iPad 10th Gen with a magic keyboard folio and it hasn't worked since upgrading to iOS 26.2. It hasn't missed a beat until now. Very annoying as I use it all the time!

I've tried everything suggested. Cleaned connectors, restarted iPad, Touch assist was already turned off. Nothing works.

If anyone has any other suggestions I'd be grateful, otherwise I may just revert back to the previous iOS.
