Monterey 12.7.4 appears to be the only Monterey installer available.

I have a question about the availability of Monterey installers.

The App Store indicates that Monterey 12.7.6 can be downloaded ... but users have reported that they actually only get 12.7.4.

Just now I ran softwareupdate --list full installers and the only version of Monterey available is 12.7.4, so that jives with what the App Store is delivering.

I have heard (in other posts here) that 12.7.5 and 12.7.6 were available at one time but were "pulled." What happened?

I have Monterey 12.7.6 on one of my iMacs (install date 8/13/2024) and it has been running fine. But I'd like to have a copy of the 12.7.6 installer since that was the penultimate version.

Seems strange that there would be no 12.7.6 installer. There was one at one time ... that's how I got 12.7.6 back in 2024. I downloaded the full installer; unfortunately I didn't make an extra copy of it.

I guess I'll have to try upgrading one of my other eligible iMacs that's still on Catalina to see what version of Monterey I'd get ... and if it's 12.7.4 then see if there is an update to 12.7.6 ... but I've got a feeling there isn't one.
