Hi dsyoung430,
welcome to this Apple (usr-to-user) Community!
Re: Deleting Safari Suggestions: I have followed all the steps to stop Safari suggestions on my MacBook
Air, but they are still showing up. How do I delete the ones currently showing and prevent future ones?
We would like to help, but are rather unsure how to go about that.
Wondering which suggestions you are trying to turn off, (eg: autofill / passwords / search engine or ? maybe notifications)
and where you found steps to follow, and what it is you have acually tried.

It may help us to help you, if we knew which MacOS version is installed on your MacBook Air.
Eg: Keeping MacOS updated to the newest compatible version for your MacBook Air model (year) is a wise move, and often restores order if something is not working as expected,
(NB: Reminder: It is also wise to back-up Mac first, before updating or upgrading MacOS.)

For a Mac already currently updated to the newest compatible MacOS version for that model:
Restarting the Mac (Apple menu > Restart) deletes temporary files, may update recent setting changes,
re-establishes connections, and much more ... wiill often restore order when something is not wokng.
All the best -)
