Favorite Mailboxes Disappear from view

in iOS Mail my Favorite Mailboxes disappear from my list and i have to re-select them. One E-Mail account is an outlook.com, one is a .onmicrosoft.com and the other is Gmail.com

on my work iPhone everything is exchange and the same thing happens. i have to go to the list of mailboxes and re-pick the folders that I set as Favorites. Then I have to go into Notifications and “Favorite Mailboxes” is set to off. This has been going on for years, despite fully wiping both phones. Does anyone know how to prevent this from happening as it happens every few weeks on both iPhones.

iPhone 16 Pro, iOS 26

Unfortunately the Outlook app does not notify about mails in subfolders that come from rules. In addition it rarely refreshes the unread mail count on subfolders. It makes it too difficult for me to use rules. Since all my folders are based on rules and the Outlook app does not support it by notifying you when there is a mail message it becomes useless to me. Setting up the favorite mailboxes along with setting those folders as push folders makes the iOS mail app far more functional than the Outlook map but the fundamental problem is that all those folders that are marked as push folders and then I add them as favorite folders periodically disappear.
