How to search photos by captions on iPhone?

RE: How to Search Photos using Captions. This year I have been unable to search photos using captions. Is there a work around?

I have used search by caption for years. When I attempt to search by caption the random photos that now pop up are 98% useless. Even with taking new photos iPhone 16 doesn’t allow the addition of a title, only captions. I have to go to my desktop to add a title.

You don't say what iOS you are using. In iOS26 I get pretty good results. Of course I can't limit the search for captions, so I get search results that have my search in titles, album names, locations, image text, objects, and so on. I just tried searching for "Antebellum," a word I think is in only one picture's caption, and I got that at the result. The search word ought to appear early in the caption, but I just tried one that was in the 5th line, and it worked. The big problem is usually getting too many hits rather than not enough.

I wonder how you determined the 98% figure. Can you share your statistics-- it doesn't seem to agree with my experience.
