HP Laserjet CP1025 Printer not working with macOS Monterey 12.7.6

Hi, I have a MacBook Pro retina 15 inch mid 2015 model with macOS Monterey 12.7.6, where I need to add HP LaserJet CP1025 Color printer. I downloaded the driver and added the printer, but despite several tries, it is not working. Now the printer driver for this model is not available with HP support. I can print using Windows OS on my friend's laptop, but I'm unable to use this printer on my Mac.

Is there any supported print driver is available or do I need to follow a different process to add this printer.

HP Support – HP LaserJet Pro CP1025 Color Printer

The specifications only mention ancient versions of Mac OS X, and the download page does not even have drivers for them. I see no evidence that the printer supports AirPrint (which would have let you print to it without needing to install separate drivers).

You might need to get another, compatible printer.

Re: “In this way, all my investment will be wasted if I need to buy a new printer.”

There might be ways around this, either by using modern printer drivers meant for a different HP printer, or by getting something like a Raspberry Pi single board computer and setting it up as a printer server. Maybe someone else could help you with the details.

If it turns out that you need to buy a new printer, you can thank HP for not updating their drivers. (Make sure that any replacement supports AirPrint.)
