iPad Pro M5 overheating while using Freeform

I'm currently using the iPad Pro M5 (IpadOS 26.2) with the Apple Pencil Pro and I've noticed that Freeform makes my iPad extremely hot and drains the battery dramatically in a very short time. I've seen other people complain about this specific app's optimization on the M-series chips, going back a few years now.

not short after I start using the app for notes (just handwritten text) the IPad starts to heat from the middle and the battery drops like crazy. We are talking about like a 10% in 10 minutes.

has anyone found a solution for this? Is this just limited to Freeform and Notes or does it happen with 3rd party apps?
