ios upgrade 26.1 placed a black circle with an "a" in the circle on my ipad Home Screen, what is it and how do I get rid of it?
it is not the Assisted touch button. I do use Assisted touch and it is on the Home Screen as well

For the benefit of others that may encounter this issue, many have observed that Hover Text is unexpectedly enabled by the iPadOS 26 upgrade.
Hover Text can be simply disabled from iPad settings:
Settings > Accessibility > [Vision] Hover Text > Hover Text - set to OFF

You have Hover Text turned on. Go to Settings > Accessibility > Hover Text and turn it off.
