Migration Assistant broke iCloud Drive AGAIN
Three times in the past year I’ve used Migration Assistant to move data from one Mac to a new one. All three times iCloud Drive connectivity was damaged beyond obvious repair. After the migration I can logon with the migrated user but cannot write any files to iCloud from Finder. I can read files and can even write files to iCloud from Terminal (using the path ~/Library/Mobile\ Documents/com~apple~CloudDocs). I’ve tried disabling iCloud Drive and logging out of iCloud but cannot fix it. The only solution I found was to create a new user account (and thus lose all customizations in the migrated user account). This also seemed to show me the computer in general and iCloud in general was not the problem—only the migrated account or the source computer. Also note this was with three different iCloud accounts and three different source computers so hard not to speculate the issue is with Migration Assistant itself. 😕
This used to work but broke somehow in recent years.
