How do I fix recurring calendar invite notification issues with Google sync on Apple devices?

Calendar sync w/ Apple calendar app using Google sync. Anyone out there having issues accepting invites from another Google user in regards to notifications such as 30 minutes at start one hour before every time I remove the one hour before it removes it and then it reappears again. I have to keep changing it several times for it to accept.
