50,000 CALENDAR / REMINDER LIMIT in ICLOUD ISSUES
50,000 CALENDAR / REMINDER LIMIT in ICLOUD - Anyone else reached the limit?????? I have been using electronic calendars since 1999 when I bought a PalmPilot. Later I migrated those entries to Apple and eventually to MobileMe so I could sync my macbook and iPhone. Years later and I now have 3 devices and are subscribed as a family to the 2TB iCloud plan. We have an enormous amount of iCloud storage left, however, with the Apple limit of 50,000 on calendar and reminder entries, I am unable to sync my calendar across my 3 devices (macbook, iphone and ipad).
I have a shared calendar with my family and I use calendars as a historical reference to see not only events but what we did each day. It's an easy way to go back and look up information as needed.
A year ago the issue began, and while I did not want to unsubscribe to online calendars and delete entries. However, to get it working, I deleted subscriptions and many calendar entries. The result was great for ....SIX MONTHS. Then the calendars stopped syncing again. More calls to Apple Support to help and I found my oldest entires are not able to be deleted. iCal does not give me the option to delete and it appears these are related to the earliest entries imported from the PalmPilot. They cannot be deleted. Are we supposed to delete our digital history to meet this arbitrary entry limit that has been the same for over 10 years?
reposting this statement from a prior apple user with the same issue "I know one response is, Why so many entries? You must have loads of repeating events with no end date, but that's not the case. The issue is my family records practically every event in our shared calendar for the past 20 years. That's just under 7 events per day on average. Maybe that's a lot for most people but over a long enough period of time, things like Zoom meetings that repeat and the multiple activities on any given day easily mount up, especially with multiple people on the same calendar.
So, what to do about the "...insufficient storage space..." issue?
Suggestions (other than to delete our shared history)?"
