Disable transparency on 3rd gen Airpods NON-PRO

How do I turn off transparency on my Airpods 3rd gen NON PRO. I've looked everywhere and can only find resources for the 3rd gen Pros, as far as I can tell it's straight up impossible. It sucks for me because with transparency music sounds worse than my $10 Walmart bluetooth headphones. If it is genuinely impossible then the non-pros might as well be e-waste IMO.
