iOS 26 update broke iStroboSoft app

I have been using iStroboSoft for years. Great product. After updating to iOS 26 on my iPhone 12 Pro, the app cannot recognize tones. For example, an E tone is reported as a B or G. Other tuner app installed a long time ago seem to have the same problem. A new app, installed for the first time today, worked fine.

I prefer the iStroboSoft app. I checked system settings but all preferences are normal.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Peterson support responded very quickly. They recommended deleting the app and then reinstalling it. I did that and the app is working properly again.

Great job and thanks for the update! It sounds like they have exceptional support which is good to hear.

They will be required to update the app at some point even if no new features are added to build it using the latest Frameworks. As I Developer myself I have seen this with some of my apps that have gone 3+ years without an update and received a message from Apple that an update is required to maintain download status in the App Store. All that was needed was to rebuild the app and submit the update to the App Store. Since they got back to you immediately it does not sound like that would be a problem for them though. It also helps weed out the apps that are no longer supported by the Developer.

It appears the developer has abandoned that app as it has not been updated in 2 years. Their last update said was for support of iOS 17. Any fix would have to come from the developer, so you can try contacting them from their support site here if they are planning on fixing it.

Apps in the App Store that are not functioning correctly in the current OS and the developer does not respond with a fix will be removed from the App Store. You can report the app to Apple by going to the reportaproblem.apple.com website.
