Signing in to iCloud Drive on Windows 10, I get this error message every time: "Verification Failed - Failed to create Pl" I can sign in via Firefox with no issues. It's just when I try to work from my iCloud Drive loaded on my windows 10 laptop.

I had been running into this same issue on a Windows 11 PC.
Oddly enough, I had two iCloud apps on my pc: iCloud and iCloud Outlook. I uninstalled both and installed iCloud again and was able to verify without issue
After uninstalling/reinstalling the iCloud app, I had no problem logging in and beginning the new setup. I had to delete ALL old iCloud files before I could set up the new install so after deleting the old files, setup proceeded without a hitch. I did have Outlook 19 open at the time, though, and in the setup of iCloud, I chose to NOT allow iCloud to sync with my Outlook. However, it appeared to do just that and my Outlook locked up. I had to open Task Manager and end that task. I rebooted and everything seems to be working good now. I'll update here, if anything negative pops up.
I have the same issue. On Windows I get the same reply as soon as I want to verify my account in the app.
And this is only the verification, I'm allready logged in on the app, but I wanted to make a change regarding photos that I backup on the cloud, but I can't do that as I can't verify myself. I get a notification on my phone if I want to trust the connection, and then get the numbers to put in the verification box, but then get the reply that it failed to create the PI. When I press OK I get back to the previous state where I am prompted to put in my password again.
I'll try to delete the app and re-install it, maybe it will let me update the settings then, if not, I'll go with another back-up service for sure.

I get the prompt for two factor login and enter the code, then the message pops up with the error and that I'll have to log in again. Doesn't matter how many times I log in with a new code... same error.
No. I was hoping that someone in the Community would be willing to help, but at least I know that I'm not the only one experiencing this. Sure do hope that someone who knows what's happening, and how to resolve it, is willing to help.

Thanks, Fystax! I do have Outlook, but I've never encountered ICloud Outlook. But, I will uninstall/reinstall iCloud and see if that will work.
