iPhone Pro Max 17: Green flashes in video playback

This doesn’t look like a hardware problem, because the issue appears only in landscape mode and only with certain videos you’ve already recorded. That usually points to a recording or file-corruption issue, not a sensor fault. Check the original source of the videos—especially if they’re synced to iCloud. If they are, make sure your internet connection is stable while streaming them, or download them fully and try again.

The green flashes, blocks, or glitches—especially when zooming, double-tapping, or jumping through the timeline—often happen when the file didn’t encode properly or isn’t loading cleanly from the cloud.

In short, verify whether the video is stored locally or on iCloud, ensure a good connection, and test by recording a short clip offline to see if the problem repeats.

I too am having the exact same problem. I can 'force' it to happen when playing back a video I filmed, where the video is stored locally on the iPhone, and I turn the iPhones orientation from horizontal to vertical, back and forth, during playback. I assume it's a software glitch, as when I load in the video file into Final Cut Pro X, the video is stable and glitch free. Quite annoying for such an expensive device!

FYI, the latest iOS version, specifically 26.3 has so far seemed to resolve the glitchy video bug. Certainly a step in the right direction!

I too have been having this issue (iPhone 17) but it has not been limited to any video type. It happens in the Youtube app when watching videos as well as in the browser version. I cannot intentionally replicate it (by zooming or otherwise). Very brief green flash that goes across the whole screen. It only happens in landscape mode and takes up about 1/3 of the screen top to bottom and the whole screen left to right (holding horizontally).

No mine one is different try contacting Apple support or visit Apple you may have big issue

Did anyone get a fix for this??? I’m having this exact same problem on my 17 pro max! I was able to record the issue with another phone bc it didn’t always display the green glitch when I replay them.

Just started happening to my phone too .. AIr 17, closing all the apps and restarting is not helping

Yes got resolved now with update just experiencing ghost touches while watching reels they scroll down themselves
