Apple Watch charging very slowly

Apple watch charging very slowly

I see several 1 year+ topics on this for older models - time to raise it again. I have an Apple watch 10 that has been charging just fine over the last year of ownership. Very recently (possibly since the last update) it has begun charging *very* slowly - on average taking an hour to charge just a quarter of the way. I am using the default Apple charger that came with it or the old charger from my previous watch. There is no difference between them, so I assume there is no fault in the charger itself. I have turned off app refresh and the battery health/charge to 80%. Nothing seems to help.

Related but perhaps not significant: I have noticed that the green charge icon no longer shows on the watch face when it is on the charger unless I input my password. I assume it *is* charging even though I can no longer tell from the watch (It is too slow to discern this without seeing an icon.)

It would be nice to start the day with a fully charged watch without having to get up four hours before I want to wear it. Any way to speed the charging up?

OK, I solved this. It turned out to be the charging block/power adapter. Cable is okay. Watch is okay. Power adapter needed to be replaced. Now all charges as it should.
