Sidebar icon to open it disappeared after updating macOS to 26.1

After updating Mac to 26.1, my icon to open my sidebar disappeared, and I can't find how to get it back! Everything I look up says to go to Finder window, and the following instructions don't make any sense to me! Any help would be appreciated, because this is driving me insane. Thank you!

When viewing a Finder window, press control-command-S (⌃⌘S) to Show or Hide the Sidebar.

You can also find the command in Finder's menu bar View menu.
