i transferred my saved music from my iphone 14pro to my new iphone 17pro. the songs are in music, but they are greyed out and wont play

What exactly did you do?
Music is generally either synced using the Apple Music iCloud Library or synced from a computer. There is no direct transfer from another Apple device like an iPhone to another iPhone.
If you are subscribed it Apple Music, makes sure Sync Library is turned on, on the new iPhone 17 Pro in Settings ➜ Apps ➜ Music ➜ Sync Library.
