Can't remove notification badge on Fitness app on Apple TV 4K

Background: I upgraded my daughter's iPhone. Included in that purchase is 3 free months of Fitness (and other services); I'm certain that is the reason for the notification badge. I do not want this offer but there is no way to decline it.

Then the offer is not for you, but for your daughter. She has to accept or decline the offer. Does she have a user profile on this Apple TV box? Close the app, switch users, (re-)open the app, let her see if a notification appears there to interact with.

Usually viewing a notification is what makes it go away.

I also was offered fitness, don’t want it either but there’s no badge there.

If you want to ignore it why are you keeping the fitness app in the top row? The Top Row (or Top Shelf) would serve you better to consist of Apps you use more often. Otherwise when you swipe through the top row, the Apps show a preview.

I came on the Internet to look for this exact same problem. I have restarted my Apple TV and I have turned off notifications. I can’t get rid of the red button. I do not want the free fitness thing either. I’m gonna try to just delete the app off the TV. Otherwise, Apple needs to fix this because it’s very annoying. I have not updated my phone. So it’s not an update issue. Maybe the update was on the Apple TV. My phone will not update anymore. (Don’t have enough space another issue with Apple.)

I started seeing this same issue I would guess around the same time the OP did. I didn’t change anything about my iPhone any time recently that I remember though.

I wonder if this is a date/time-related bug that started right at the turnover to the new year.

Whatever the cause, there’s a fundamental user interface corollary that’s been violated in the development of the Apple TV Apple Fitness app: if an app can show badge notifications, it (or the system) must also allow the user to clear them.
