Movie Collector 20.2.2 macOS compatibility after Big Sur

Movie Collector 20.2.2 MacOS Compatibility after BigSur 11.7.10 (they stopped making it for MacOS)

Very niche question here that I will also ask on the movie collector forum (when I get access) but is anyone ran this program successfully on the later MacOS up to and including the current version 26?

Found a post where someone was running it on MacOS 13.7.3 but nothing after that.

Looking to finally update my machine and wondering if I am going to have to go the VM route or if the core functionality still works... I don't care about server connectivity.

D.I. Johnson - That the old software runs okay on Sequoia and Tahoe (26.2).

Little sluggish on start-up and initial edits but once it gets going it works as it did before.

Will be using it a lot this week so if something changes I will update this thread.

Thank you for the responses.

I figured it out... old desktop app still runs okay on Sequoia (apparently as high as my 2019 iMac can go) and Tahoe new M5 MacBook Pro.

Development of the software ended in 2021. The best option is to find something else to use.

According to the compatibility note in the App Store, Movie Collector requires macOS 11 and a Mac with Apple M1 chip or later. Your 2017-2020 iMac doesn't meet that requirement.

muguy - Been trying but unfortunately nothing comes close to the functionality of their desk top app that I have tried so far. Even their own web based subscription service does not have everything built in.

I am open to suggestions though.
