iPhone 15 Pro, IOS 26.2, Notes not syncing to iCloud

My Iphone got water damage and face id does not work now. It did work beforehand

Before/if phone dies completely I want to sync my notes to icloud.

I had not tried to sync notes before this

I did have photos syncing without issue

On Iphone I went to my account/iCloud, tapped on Notes and turned on "sync this Iphone".

However my Notes have not synced to cloud yet, been an hour so far?

I have edited one of my notes and it has not synced. (I am checking icloud on windows computer)

Is there something else I am supposed to do?

IOS 26.2, iphone 15 Pro.

One day later Iphone will now not turn on.

Before water damage I had Stolen Device Protection turned on. When water damage occured I tried backing phone up with Itunes but it kept asking me for face ID, even though I was at home, sim card kept going unrecognised so it didn't get to have a whole hour in place for it to allow just passcode as opposed to face id.

So I couldn't back it up.

I have a backup of my phone from November on my windows PC, from using Itunes.

Question is if I buy a new Iphone will I be able to use the backup from Nov or will there be something to do with stolen device protection preventing me using it?

Stolen Device Protection applies to just the protected device.

You should be able to restore your iCloud or iTunes backup to your replacement iPhone without issue. You will obviously need to setup using your existing Apple Account (AppleID). You may, in some circumstances, be prompted for the Passcode of the device to which the backup relates.
