iPhone not charging or turning on after battery drained

My phone was plugged in but the battery was going down. It died, and is no longer charging, turning on, or showing any sort of low battery icon that it usually would. I have tried a force restart, changing chargers, using wireless chargers, leaving it plugged in for over an hour, and nothing is working. I'm trying to avoid a visit to a repair shop, but I'm not too sure what else I can do. Please help.

I'll second the suggestion by stevejobsfan0123

I had a severely depleted battery on an iPhone and went so far as to arrange for shipping it to Apple. As a last resort I left it plugged in over night and in the morning the iPhone turned on and the battery was charged. After that incident the phone continued to work normally. Definitely try a longer time plugged in to the charger. Also make sure there is no lint or dirt in the charging port of the phone. You might also try a different cable.

Search for accessories that have completed MFi certification. Once an accessory has completed MFi certification requirements and is reported to Apple as sold/distributed, it will be searchable in our public database of authorized Lightning, headset, charging, iAP-enabled, and Find My network-enabled accessories.

Learn how to identify counterfeit or uncertified Lightning-based accessories.

Follow these steps:

  • Remove any debris from the charging port on the bottom of your device.
  • Restart your iPhone or iPod touch.
  • Try a different USB cable or charger.
  • Make sure you have the latest version of iOS.
