can't disable timer in dynamic island

I am trying to make paused timers and stopwatches and whatever else stop showing up in the dynamic island. I am well aware that you can swipe left on the timer icon to make it go away, but the problem is that, every hour or so at random intervals, it will come back completely out of the blue. I have to swipe left to make it go away again, both in the dynamic island and in notifications. Then an hour or so later it will inevitably show up again. I tried restarting my device to fix the issue but sure enough, the second I turned my phone back on, it showed me the same notification. It won't stop. It would not be a big problem if it happened once, but it's been happening every day multiple times a day. Please tell me how to make this stop!!!

Instead of pausing the timer, stop or cancel it.

kiltedtim: before i had a phone with dynamic island, i could keep timers and stopwatches in my timer app for as long as i wanted in any state i wanted without being forced to see annoying notifications about it every few hours. i would rather be able to keep my timers in whatever state i want than be forced to do it the "apple way." while canceling timers may "fix" the problem it is not a solution which works for me because often i keep them there for my own reasons, and i don't see why apple or its OS should be interfering with that.
