How do I reduce extreme Health app memory consumption on iPhone 12?

My iPhone 12 health app is consuming all available memory in documents and data. Right now it’s 3.76 GB. I’d like to sync with iCloud, which only has 800 MB. How can I find the source of this excess data? The sum of documents and data on the phone is nowhere near even a gigabyte. iCloud only has 800 MB. Where’s all this extra coming from please? I can’t use the phone or the Health app. Of course I’ve restarted and un synced. Of course it’s up to date. I’d like to save some of this health data. The trends are very helpful.

Yes that works for any single type of activity data point. I’m trying to find almost 4gigs of excess.

It’s un-synced now. So the phone can be used. Memory is almost nothing.

There are 800 mb health in iCloud.

when I sync, the health app will consume to 4G UNTIL EVERY LAST iota of memory is gone and the phone becomes unusable.

to identify the source I can’t find any single activity with millions of records to delete. There should only be 800mb max.

thanks
