How to add GE Cync puck lights to Apple Home via Matter?

I am having trouble adding GE Cync puck under cabinet lights to Apple Home. I watched video on YouTube where people connect GE Cync under cabinet panel lights to Apple Home. They say the puck lights will also connect via Matter — but nothing I tried worked. I called Apple Support and spent a loooooooooong time trying things — but nothing worked. They work fine on the GE Cync app — but nothing we tried could get them connected to Apple Home. Has anyone had any success adding these GE Cync puck lights to your Apple Home. If so, are there any "tricks" to it??

Thanks!

If your accessory is indeed Matter compatible, then you should be able to add to the Home app (on iPhone or iPad).

Add a smart home accessory to the Home app - Apple Support

Some accessories would make this easy with a QR code on the packaging for this purpose.

But I suppose that Apple Support would have mentioned this.

Requires an iPhone or iPad with iOS 16.1 or later, and a home hub (relatively modern Apple TV box or HomePod speaker) for the permanent access to HomeKit features (like automations and scenes) in iCloud.

For accessories that rely on the Thread protocol, a Thread border router is needed, which bridges between Thread and Wi-Fi. That could be covered by more recent models home hubs like HomePod mini, HomePod (2nd gen), Apple TV 4K (2nd gen or later). Without Thread, HomeKit would rely on Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
