Safari on MacBook Pro fails to load pages and freezes

2025 MacBook Pro 14", Sequoia 15.6.1, Safari v 18.6

This Mac is barely a year old and the problems I have with Safari seem endless. Every week or two, Safari just won't load a page. It usually starts with one website, random websites but often LinkedIn won't load completely. However, the issue is not exclusive to any one website. Eventually, Safari just won't load any website. I try Chrome, DuckDuckGo, and Firefox - they all load the sites perfectly, no problem. 3rd party apps work better than Apple's own application??? Inevitably, I have to close Safari down and restart it to get it working again. This is much more than a minor annoyance as I am searching for a new job and have job description pages open that I switch between as I'm working on or reviewing jobs. When I relaunch Safari, it doesn't reload that job description, especially on LinkedIn. Not to mention the aggravation of Safari being my default browser so when I try to activate sign-on verifications or SW license activations, Safari freezes and I'm screwed. This fashion statement computer is really making me sorry I bought it.

I have had to start up Firefox too and I really love the way Safari interacts with my fingerprint, logins, passwords, codes sent to validate, etc. Nationsphotolab.com--only will use Chrome or Firefox. There have been several forms that I've had to go launch Firefox for as well. I am updated as I take security and Safari updates only. Tahoe looks like most of the updates have been making a better looking toy. I prefer straight up something that works. Every Mac I've owned (forever), I have had to abandon Safari eventually which is really disappointing. I'm not abandoning it yet but I do wonder why if Firefox can develop for all websites, why can't Safari? Thank you.

Thanks for your editorial.

If you could re-word some of your complaints into separate issues that others could attempt to duplicate on their computers, Readers are eager to help you address some of them.

I upgraded to Tahoe 26.3. Now I not only have the same ****** issue with Safari locking up all the time, but now I have other issues. I know you're not the programmer, I'm sorry but it so ****** aggravating that Apple can't make their products work with their own ****** products! I was trying not to use Google anymore because of their data collection but Apple can't even make a browser that works with their own OS. Unreal.

So, I have the latest version of Safari. I have maybe 8 tabs open at any given time. It will work for a few days to a week, then it just won't load pages anymore and will be virtually frozen. I can scroll through pages that were open before the app froze, but I can't load or reload or activate anything else. The blue progress line freezes at about 25% and just sits there. It doesn't matter what URL I'm trying to access. This use to happen frequently only on LinkedIn.com but now it's every URL.
