iPhone 4 stuck on operator searching

Hello,

This happened to me today, i was in college and i normally lose connection to the operator inside this building.. but when i went out the building it was still stuck on operator searching mode.. (top left of tehe screen) i had to shut it down and open it up so it fixed the issue.. anyone having the same problem ?
