Macbook as video monitor for iPhone camera won't rotate to portrait I use QuickTime to record video for tiktok and instagram. I definitely need vertical portrait orientation. I see that in 2021 people reported that they can't switch to landscape... To make it more clear let's rephrase it. I can't record myself in the angles of 0, 45, 90, 180, 270 degrees because QuickTime always do 2 things: QuickTime tries to match video frame and AR to the AR of the screen. So I am wondering can I just attach vertical screen to get the expected aspect ration?? QuickTime uses some gravity related feature and compensates the orientation angle of the recording. So I am wondering, do I need to invent the time machine and go to future to bring some gravity modifier for my house so that I could make iPhone record my body in the angle of 45 degrees or just use ropes to tie my body and fix it in 45 regree orientation relatively to the earth?

How to include complete portrait image in video using iMovie on iPad I’m trying to edit an existing iMovie project where every portrait image/photo is automatically cropped and the Ken Burns effect added. I want that effect left intact on most of the imported images, but in some cases, I just want the complete portrait image to be used (black filler side bars are ok). As I search, I find references to a magnifying glass icon (after the clip is selected) which offers a ”fit” option, but I can’t find it on the iPad screen. That appears to be relevant to iMovie on the Mac, not on an iPad. How do I accomplish this task on the iPad?

Nope. Preview offers 90 degree rotation left or right only.

If you need more granular rotation control, you need a more featured image editing app like Photoshop or Gimp.
