I apologise for the lack of clarity. I was attempting to back up my iPhone 16e to the MacBook Air but it indicated insufficient memory storage. I have noticed that when I close all applications on the MacBook, the sync process is successful.
However, this was never an issue prior to approximately 6-8 months ago. Why is this happening?
Many thanks
It is likely happening because you don't have much available space on your MacBook Air. Open Systen Settings on your MacBook > General > Storage - how much available space is shown there?
You are presumably trying to sync Music and/or Photos and videos from Mac to iphone 16e.
How much are you trying to sync and how much spare memory is on the iphone?

Thank you for your very quick response and instructions, it shows 217.3 GB
And how much data is on your iPhone: Settings > General > iPhone Storage
II have 75.41GB of storage remaining on my iPhone. I do not have any music stored on it. I transfer approximately 6 new photos a week, but I use the cable to do so and it works, do not use iCloud storage.
Unsure what has happened whilst we are communicating I thought I try again to sync/back up and it worked. Maybe the network/wifi was weak, I am confused as now I have 7-8 applications opened including live streaming service.
thank you once again, I know now that I can rely on the Apple Support Community for assistance.
You have asked us to guess exactly what you tried, what you saw, error messages, etc.
Presumably you told us your MacBook Air storage. (Maybe iCloud storage is 500GB?) Anyway, perhaps the iPhone lacks the storage.

I'm glad things are working as they should. And yes, it could certainly have been a network issue. Technical gremlins! Take care!
