Firmware upgrade in December 2025 from Brother for HL-L2460DW Laser - no longer working with MacOs 26.2 . Need Airprint as well . Any others experiencing this and any workarounds?

You only need to use AirPrint with that Brother L2460DW Printer.

I went through the same thing and finally used the printer IP address to set up AirPrint, which worked so far. Also I was having issues with the Brother switching back to LAN from WLAN - very annoying.
This is what worked for me. I also made sure duplex was toggled on.
Fill in as:
Protocol: HP Jetdirect-Socket
Address: 192.xxx.x.xxx:xxxx (what is found on your printer in settings)
Name: Brother HL-L2840DW
Use: Generic PCL Printer
Setting up as Airprint was the problem - created certificate issue. Had to make changes to certificate and printer setup in order to use WiFi printing on local computer and AirPrint for phones, iPad, etc.. Printer has to be set up using IP and certificate has to have the windows selection deleted.
