while you are waiting, you may want to check, if your Photos Library library is containing items in an incompatible format, that might be blocking the upload. This could be videos in a special format or any item from an unsafe source, like items shared with you or downloaded from the internet. Try to identify items that have not yet been uploaded into iCloud from your iPhone.

Which system version is running on your iPhone?

On iOS26 on your iPhone you can see the status of the syncing, when you click your avatar in the upper right corner. Is it showing "Synced just now" or something else? Perhaps the syncing has been paused, if the iPhone has been running on battery power. Then tap "Sync now".

That can be hard. Corrupted files, especially videos, seem to find lots of ways to hide their corruption. If you have a Mac, you can try a Smart Album like this:

Often corrupted files will appear OK on a Mac or iPhone, but they won't go into Edit mode or even have a trashcan to delete them. Video files seem the most likely to cause trouble.
