iPhone 17 not ringing.

I recently got a iPhone 17 . Its my business phone .

Since I got it , nothing but ringing problems.

if you ring me , it rings once then goes to message bank.

If you ring me again , it will ring normally.

I have taken it to the Apple Store and they blamed the sim card. Telstra gave me a new sim card and it stills does it .

I have done a factor reset , network reset , booted it off and on .

Still will not ring correctly

Updates are up to date. And its not focus or volume down .

Everyone says lets look at it and they cant find a setting that's not correct.

Should it be replace , had it two months .

Not happy as i am missing calls all the time.

Please look at your settings...

Repeated Calls: If someone calls you twice within three minutes, the second call isn't silenced.

Please see the pic below which is self-explanatory

  • You have allowed certain notifications to bypass Do Not Disturb. By default, phone calls, text messages, and FaceTime calls will still ring or vibrate when Do Not Disturb is on. However, you can also allow other notifications to bypass Do Not Disturb by going to Settings > Focus> Do Not Disturb > Allow Notifications and selecting the apps and contacts that you want to be able to notify you even when Do Not Disturb is turned on.
  • You have enabled System Haptics. System Haptics provides haptic feedback for certain actions, such as when you touch and hold an app icon or scroll through a list. Even if Do Not Disturb is on, your iPhone will still vibrate for System Haptics if you have enabled it. To disable System Haptics, go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics and turn off System Haptics.

A family member had a similar problem on his iPhone 16, iOS 26.2
After one or two ringtones, the Voicemail kicked in, no matter how long the interval has been set for the carrier, using the carrier code for extending the number of rings.
Only disabling the Live-Voicemail feature allowed those carrier settings to work as selected.

Good to know, and worth a try. However Live voicemail works fine on mine.

Did your family members phone ring properly on the second attempt?

  1. Is this your corporate/organisation/enterprise/School Management iPhone? Then please contact the system administrator of your corporate//organisation/enterprise/School Management
  2. If it is your device, in that case, do you have any profile installed by your corporate/organisation/enterprise/School Management?
    1. Erase the profile added by you If you have installed a profile on your own --> Install or remove configuration profiles on iPhone - Apple ...
    2. Or please contact the system administrator of the organisation who provided the profile to you

A corporate profile installed on your iPhone could potentially be contributing to the inaccessibility of certain features.

Here's why:

  • Restrictions: Corporate profiles can have restrictions placed on apps and functionalities. These restrictions might be limiting some activity, causing it to be unresponsive or quit.
  • Managed Apps: IT departments might deploy specific navigation apps through the profile, potentially blocking certain functions or features.
  • Security Settings: Corporate profiles often have stricter security settings that could affect app or function behavior. This might be causing unexpected behavior of an App or functions.

Here's what you can do:

  • Check with IT: The best course of action is to contact your IT department. They can explain the restrictions set by the corporate profile and see what is affected. They might be able to adjust settings or suggest alternative apps or features approved for corporate use.
  • Look for App Conflicts: See if your IT department uses a different app through the corporate profile. Conflicting apps might cause crashes.

Additional points to consider:

  • Even if the profile isn't directly affecting the function, it's still a good idea to check with IT. They might be aware of similar issues and have workarounds.
  • While troubleshooting, make sure you prioritize safety. Don't fiddle with your phone.

By working with IT and considering these possibilities, you can hopefully identify if the corporate profile is the culprit and find a solution that allows you to use the iPhone to your liking.

"if you ring me , it rings once then goes to message bank."

That is classic too short a time before being forwarded to voicemail..

It is a setting in your providers setup.

It is highly unlikely to be the phone.

Absolutely no idea why it rings properly second time but I suspect your carrier settings.

If it had not rung at all first time, then rang normally second time that is a phone app screening or focus setting. (allow Repeated calls)
