2FA auto-fill in suggestions from messages is insecure

I am using Sonoma 14.8.2 on MacBook Air. Within the last year, I first had to turn off messages on my computer in order to prevent 2FA codes from popping up on my computer (thus not requiring my phone to obtain the code). That worked for a while, but now messages pops up with the code to allow me to click on that to fill in the code that was sent to my phone. Both of these defeat the purpose of 2FA because the code is readily available to anyone who has the computer.

Can someone please explain how to disable this? It seems to me to be an anti-security feature!

Thank you!

I agree with Barney-15E that letting someone use your computer while you are logged into your account is a bad idea. It defeats a lot of security protections.

If you want to let anyone else use your computer, create a user account for them (if it's an ongoing thing) or enable Guest Account.
