Series 6 watch had the sensor dome burst and sliced up my wrist. I've contacted Apple repeatedly and have been repeatedly promised call backs that never seem to happen. Best Apple seems to care is they want me to pay for an apple care replacement of the same make and model that apparently likes to explode.

Looks more like it was dropped and shatterd, not burst.
I've never heard of this claim here in all the years that I have volunteered in this forum. I don't think this is a major issue that Apple has ignored since this watch was released 5+ years ago as you claim.
