MacBook Pro: Disk Utility asks for password every launch

Why is disk utility suddenly asking for my password in Sequoia . This started about three weeks ago. If I fill in my password the message goes away. I can also just click cancel and it still goes to disk utility. This is with every launch of DU. 15.7.3 MBP 15" 2018 2.8 Ghz 6 core I7

How do I stop this?

Thanks Matti. I do have external disks mounted but they are not boot (start up drives). I wonder if everyone who has a vintage MB like me have this issue? It's odd that even if you don't enter a password and just click cancel you can still get to DU and it's functions.
