Using Numbers the sum is returning wrong result

I have created a fresh simple spreadsheet using Numbers on my iMac. I populated a column (90 rows) with a list of three digit numbers. I want to add all these numbers for a total in another field. Using the SUM function, I dragged down all the fields I want to add. The SUM here returns an obvious wrong result! For example every number in the column I am trying to add has the last digit of zero but the result shows a value with cents (obviously wrong). How is that possible and what can I do to create the correct value?
