Can't disable/remove unsupported mail account on iPhone
Hi, I have a minor but very weird issue with my mail app/accounts. I had my work email loaded into my mail accounts, but now that support is disabled since I don’t have iOS26. I have an XR, so that’s not happening. Whatever; it’s not critical that I have it, just a convenience. So in my mail app I now have a constant “account error” message for my work account. Thing is, if I go to Settings>Apps>Mail>Mail Accounts, the account is still there, and still turned on, but it’s greyed out and I can’t change it. It wants me to re-enter my password, but even if I do that the account can’t be authenticated (because there is no support) so it changes nothing. I also can’t get into “account settings”, which I presume is how I would “unlink” it from my phone, as it is also greyed out. To be clear, the mail app still functions perfectly fine for my personal account, I just have this constant error message at the bottom for my work account that I can’t get rid of. Because I can’t turn off the account. Which is all I want to do.
iPhone XR, iOS 18
