If you see SOS, No Service, or Searching on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

Typically this means that you are outside of the coverage area of your carrier's network, or that there is some issue with your account.

Just for the record, I am no longer having this issue, for the past couple of hours. Messaging and calling is working, in MY location.
