Podcasts app taking up storage on laptop

Podcasts takes up 101.3 MB on my laptop despite the fact that I have absolutely nothing saved or downloaded on it. I've never used the app before and never will. How do I get rid of the app entirely? If I can't how can I make it take up less storage.

Restrict your Use of this App:

Create a Profile, and then Install it:

This is performed similar to what I've provided here: How to Use a Profile to Disable the iSight Camera in macOS 15 Sequoia - User Tip

In-Depth:

I. Create the Profile and Save it:

  1. Download: Apple Configurator for Mac
  2. Open: Apple Configurator
  3. Go to: File menu
  4. Select: New Profile
  5. Select: Restrictions (located on the left pane)
  6. Click: Configure
  7. Deselect: Allow Use of Podcasts (supervised only)
  8. Go to: File menu
  9. Select: Save...
  10. Save as: Podcast_Disabler.mobileconfig
  11. Save to: Documents folder
  12. Close: Apple Configurator

Screenshot of What to Deselect:

Install the New Profile

  1. Open: System Settings
  2. Select: General
  3. Click: Device Management
  4. Click: the + button
  5. Select: Podcast_Disabler.mobileconfig profile
  6. Click: Open button
  7. Click: Continue button
  8. Click: Install button
  9. Close: System Settings
