iCloud Photos not syncing on Windows 11

iCloud on Windows 11 couldn't sync photos. The status always shows "Updating..." in the iCloud application, and "Finish setting up iCloud Photos" in Microsoft Photos application

iCloud Drive works fine.

iCloud Photos also work fine on another Windows 11 PC that I have, so don't know what's the issue with this particular one.

OS versions and app versions are up to date. I've tried logging out then in to iCloud, and reinstalling iCloud, they all didn't seem to work

Imac Photos app not syncing I am running Sonoma 14.3.1 on iMac Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2019. All my settings are set for the Mac to sync to iCloud Photos, and until last week all my iphone photos appeared in the Photos App quite happily. The Mac has been switched off for a week and now there are no photos after 28th Janaury 2024 in the Mac Photos App - about 3,000 missing photos. I have checked the iPhone, and iCloud - the photos are all there and synced. The Photos app has been saying it is 'syncing with Icloud' for 3 days now. I could download manually from icloud but does anyone have any ideas what could have happened - presumably an update??

The iCloud app on Windows 11 laptop is no longer synchronizing photos from the cloud The iCloud App on my Windows 11 laptop is no longer synchronizing photos from the cloud. Worse, it has locked all the photos on my laptop in a "synch pending" state so I cannot access them. The app is still synchronizing the "iCloud drive" but not the "iCloud photos". I believe this problem started with the August 2 2025 update of the iCloud App. My photos appear to be intact in the "iCloud" when I use the web browser to access iCloud.com, but the copies on my laptop hard drive have updates that I do not want to loose. Photos "Unable to upload" to iCloud I am uploading and syncing my photos library on my Mac to iCloud. Most of my photos upload and sync, however, when the sync finishes there is a file in Photos that says "Unable to upload". These files did not upload to iCloud. I have tried the recommendation to "Export" these files to my Mac hard drive; then delete them from Photos, and then re-Import them into Photos. When I do this, and try to Upload/sync with iCloud, the same thing happens and they move to the "Unable to upload" folder in Photos. I have more than 1TB of iCloud storage available so this is not the issue. Many of these photos are taken on the iPhone and are unmodified original photos. Does anyone have a solution to this problem?
