Beats Powerbeats Fit audio cut-outs

Brief sound cut-outs with new Beats Powerbeats Fit


I have recently purchased a pair of the 'new' Beats Powerbeats Fit. I am finding, in certain locations (the office, the train) that the sound keeps cutting out, albeit briefly when playing something from Apple Music on my iPhone 17 Pro. It will cut out several times during a single music track.


I have tried unpairing and then re-pairing the earphones, I have checked that the firmware is up to date, I have been back to the Apple Store and exchanged them for a new pair but the issue persists.


I do not have the same problems with my Airpods Pro 3.


Does anyone know how to resolve this problem? I appreciate that it does not happen in all environments but it consistently happens in certain environments and it's driving me mad!

Thank you for the specifics. That is too bad it is not fixed yet. I was considering buying them again but I guess I will wait. Hopefully updates fix the issue for you. Thanks for your original post, it was good to see someone else had the same issue with 2 different pairs like me. It was happening to me in specific locations as well. I had static and then audio drops. They did not disconnect and just tapping the phone to wake it brought the audio back but then I would have to rewind to hear what I missed. There was another older post here talking about an iOS A2DP bug where they believed the iPhone is filling the Bluetooth audio buffer and dropping packets, explaining static/ dropouts. They had an iPhone 17 as well but were having issues with JBL speakers. I am using a 12. Went back to using Jaybird Vista 2, no issues. I wonder if that is the cause…

This happened to me when I purchased a pair several weeks ago. After speaking with support they suggested I exchange the pair. I returned and purchased at a different location (neither were Apple Store) in case it was a manufacturing batch defect. Had same issue with second pair, so returned again. I am curious if you have updated to latest iOS and if the issue persists after that. I hope someone has an answer for you. For me it was happening with podcasts, did not try Apple Music. Also curious if it does it with other apps… Lobed everything about them except this issue.

Hi. Thanks for your message. I only experienced the issue in certain locations and always whilst using Apple Music (I didn’t try Podcasts). I upgrade my iPhone 17 Pro to the latest firmware and I verified the firmware release on the earbuds, I checked again last week and the release version was the same.


I also tried changing them twice, once in the Apple Store in Reading and once in the Apple Store in Glasgow.


I’m hoping that Apple/Beats will do a new firmware release shortly to fix the issue - fingers crossed.
