Switching pages of a multipage PDF suddenly became inactive in Apple Motion 5.11

It seems to me that there is a bug in Motion handling keyframes of the page number parameter.

I tested adding a multipage pdf to a new Motion project.

Changing the parameter works, but as soon as I start adding keyframes what is seen in the canvas stops matching the page number set. I can clearly see the keyframes in the keyframe editor, matching what I had set, but the canvas does not reflect the page changes, nor do these changes appear in an exported movie.

I even deleted Motion preferences but it had no effect on this.

(I am running the latest Motion, 5.11, on Tahoe 26.2)

Did you try keyframing the pdf from 1 to the last page over the same number of frames, setting an out point for just those frames (for its group), then cloning the group and creating a replicator (point shape), turning off Play Frames and using the Source Start Frame parameter to keyframe page changes? (Most of the PDFs I have require adding a color solid behind anyway...) As an alternative to keyframing page changes, a Ramp behavior could also be used on the original pdf.

Hi, Fox. I will have to test your suggestions tomorrow. All I did was to set keyframes for the page number parameter, at different points in the timeline. The keyframe editor did reflect these keyframes and the respective values, but playback just produced the first frame. I will test. Regarding the background, that is normal. In many cases, the pdf itself is composed of black text on a transparent background so if the canvas background is set to black it appears as if nothing is there. This makes sense.

The replicator didn't work? (I'm still in 5.4.7...)
