My apple @me mail account is not working

I just reset the password to my old apple account (i.e. @me ). The password was accepted by apple but the macmail for tis account does not work. I tried going to mail settings and requested that the account be correctly set up. But when I tried to send a piece of mail from my other account the to: line adds the all to end of the address. I can't erase it. And if I go to end the mail it adds a number of my other contacts.

Sometimes it takes 24 hours or so for the update to come into effect everywhere it is in use..

or

Restarting the device or computer you use may help: (ie: deletes temporary files, re-establishes connections, may update recent setting changes, and often restores order iif something is not working as expected),


Sometimes you may be still signed in to an app or site with the old password ... Try signing out, and then sign back in with the new password.
