Default view/settings for Finder and Preview in MacOS Tahoe

Hi there -- just updated my OS to Tahoe (26.2) and to be honest, not sure it was a good deal :-( Beside the "disappearance" of LaunchPad for a totally useless Apps app, there are a few things really annoying here. I might be missing something but can you tell me why my OS is not saving the last view/settings I used for Finder or Preview (window size, column size, etc)? Each time I am opening a new Finder or Preview window, it is always reseting to the value it was after I installed Tahoe...

Many thanks in advance for your help,

Chris

not sure i follow the logic...

I do not know of a universal setting..

If you want to restore defaults—

delete the com.apple.finder.plist

Found here Finder>Go>Go to Folder copy and paste:

~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist

Relaunch your Finder from the >Force Quit>Finder>Relaunch and compare your results.

Preview.app is not Finder. YOu can make some changes to Preview>Settings and compare your results there.

Maybe I did not explain correctly...sorry about that. What I want is to have every Finder window (folders) with the exact settings (column position and size).

Maybe I did state it clearly: I do not know of a universal setting..

Set your Finder window manually as you go, it should remember your last setting for that folder
