Mac mini running Sequoia not recognizing USB MIDI device

I have a mac mini I7 with the Sequoia operating system. It is running a proprietary software program that requires input from a midi system thru the USB port. The system recognizes the keyboard and mouse, but not the input from the midi system. I use midi monitor to verify inputs. Connecting the midi system to another computer verifies that the midi signal is working. The midi device used is a motu microlite combiner that connects 5 midi sources and converts them to USB.

The motu shows up in applications, but won’t show in midi monitor.

Where do I need to go in Sequoia to get this to work.? Another question is that closing programs leaves a ghost image on the monitor screen. This may be a monitor question, since it is used with a second computer and the images show up when it is connected to computer 2.

Asking the obvious, but did you install the MOTU microlite driver(s)? Is it the latest version? Have you set up the microlite in Audio MIDI Setup? If you have installed the driver(s) and done the setup as described in the User Guide and it's still not working, pls. tell us more about your setup ... for example ...

Is the microlite connected directly to your Mac, or are you using a USB hub?
How are your keyboard & mouse connected to your mini? USB cable or Bluetooth?
In System Information (System Report), does the microlite device appear in Hardware > USB?
What is the "midi monitor" you referred to? It appears to be an app, but what app is it?
When you say "the motu shows up in Applications" exactly what app is that?

Regarding your ghost image question, please start a different thread about that.

Audio MIDI Setup should be in your Applications/Utilities folder.

When I searched my own system using Spotlight from the top menu strip, it did not find it either. But when searched "This Mac" in a Finder window, it found Audio MIDI Setup just fine.

I am using a powered USB hub, and the keyboard and mouse go thru it and work fine.

Keyboards & mice usually work fine with USB hubs, other devices can be catch-as-catch-can through a hub. I suggest connecting the microlite directly to your Mac and see if it works that way.

Check the setup in the Audio MIDI Setup application.

You can find that in the Applications/Utilities folder.

The applications folder does not show either. Or not under that specific heading. I am using a powered USB hub, and the keyboard and mouse go thru it and work fine.

Sequoia seems to be a not so user friendly program, at least for me.

I still have the ‘ghost’ screens, but this may be an artifact of the monitor, as it is used with another computer and they show up with it connected.

I need to have this working, it has been a couple of months

The MOTU microlite shows up in the USB port. When I go into the applications folder, all of the MOTU setups are there. Clicking on the motu discovery icon does a search and indicates that there are no devices found. Doesn’t matter if the motu is connected thru the hub, which is how it will be used, or directly to the usb port.

Using this exact set up connected to my laptop running an earlier version of OSX, works perfectly. So, what do I need to do in Sequoia to get this to work.

Midi monitor is a program to check the output of a device that produces a midi signal. I need the midi signal for the program I am using, which is not finding the required input.
