Which VPN for iPhone XS in China?

I have to go on an extended business trip to China. My MacBook will have a VPN from my company, but not my iPhone XS phone. Ill have dual sims and want to use the eSim for a local carrier.

Which VPNs work best in China?

I second Lawrence's suggestion. Talk to your IT department. See if they have a VPN client for your phone to connect to their network or can configure the native VPN client to connect.

You'll find most commercial VPN services are blocked in China and either won't work or will get you into hot water with the Chinese Communist government.

In addition to the VPN app questions, ask your IT department whether they recommend bringing or not bringing your own phone, and if they recommend specific setup or contents-related steps, two-factor hardware tokens, or whatever. This all in addition to any VPN or SDN tools they might suggest or might require.

iPhone XS does have eSIM support, though there are restrictions around use of eSIM in China mainland.
