Numbers formula help needed Sequoia 15.6.1

Hi there,

Need numbers formula help please, Sequoia 15.6.1

See sheet below

Payment is made at irregular intervals. I might do any number milkings between payments.

Column E remains blank until date payment is received.

I need a formula for a running total in D that resets from the line following payment date. Eg: rows 6-10 need running total in D until date paid, starting again in row 11 until next date paid. I’m frustrated to death now 😂.

Here’s a screenshot of my sheet.

> Hi Peter_MZ

Using the per milking figures from your spreadsheet (10.29am)

The following is how I want it to read

D4 should read 166 - 2 milkings complete and paid for on 2.1.2026.

D5 starts again and should read 85 - 1 milking complete

D6 should read 169 (D5+D6) - 2 milkings complete

D7 should read 323 ( D5+D6+D7) - 4 milkings complete and paid for on 5.1.2026

D8 starts again and should read 273 - 3 milkings that day at 91ea

D9 should read 339 (D8+D9) - 4 milkings complete and paid for on 7.1.2026

D10 starts again and should read 77 - 1 milking complete

Here is that data in spreadsheet form:

and here is the formula I used in D3:

=C3×B3+(IF(E2="",D2,0))

You always want C3 * D3 (the price per milking multiplied by the number of milking).

To this, you add either the previous row's Running Total, or 0 if you were paid the previous day.

This seems pretty straightforward...

Given what you said, just set the formula of cell D3 to:

=IF(ISBLANK(E3),C3+D2,0)

and fill down the column.

This formula checks the cell E3 to see if it ISBLANK(). If it is (you didn't get paid yet), it adds this row's Per Milking value (C3) to the previous running total cell, D2. If E3 is not blank, it assumed you got paid, so it resets to 0

Hi Camelot, I'm not sure if you or anyone has seen my answer to your formula but sadly it's not what I need.

If I do more than one milking on any one day, I need D3=B3*C3.

Also, your formula zeros at the date instead of continuing the running total until at the date, effectively discounting a payment.

It needs to be 81 (or multiple of if I've done more than one milking) in the first blank D cell AFTER the date paid, then running from there, up to and INCLUDING payment date.

I've been trying to sort this for days now and I'm getting nowhere.
