Family Sharing for Apple TV not working

Do you need the same login information on separate devices to use the Family Share for example on Apple TV. We have the Family Sharing plan but we can’t see the same shows listed on each other’s devices

iPhone 15, iOS 26

You do not need the same login information on separate devices. Each group member can continue to use their own devices with their own credentials.

Family Sharing shares services like subscriptions.

➔ Family Sharing with the Purchase Sharing option active, is needed to share content purchases, like buy-movies and TV shows that group members bought in Apple’s media Store. ‘Purchase’ in this sense is about a one-time payment for perpetual access.

Rented movies cannot be shared like this, in contrast with buy-items from the Store.

Family Sharing requires that all group members have their account set for the same country or country-like region.

Content from third party providers would not be sharable in this way.

You should be able to find shared purchases through the Family Sharing tab in the Library part of the Apple TV app, separated by group member that shared content.

The Purchase Sharing option requires that all of the (future) Apple Family Sharing billing goes through the group Organizer’s credit card. This may or may not be suitable for your particular Family Sharing group, when some or all of the group member are expected to pay for their own content, and in-group reimbursing may not always go smoothly.
