Cannot update from macOS Tahoe 26.0 (25A8353) - Your Mac is up to date.

Hi,

I've been trying to update my new M5 MacBook Pro to the latest version of macOS, but it doesn't show any option to update. I'm on macOS Tahoe 26.0 build 25A8353 and when I open System Settings and go to General > Software Update, it says I'm on the latest version.

Thanks

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 26.0

Do you have any MDM Profiles installed? "Mobile Device Management" often used by companies to insure Apple devices that connect to a company network do not do things the company does not approve of. In the case of operating system versions, companies often block new releases to give the company time to check them out, making sure all essential company software runs on the new version.

System Settings -> General -> Device Management

An out-dated Profile can be blocking a Mac from updating to a newer operating system version.
