Not enough information here...

Have you shut down and restarted?

>Shut Down

verify your software is up to date—

The current stable release of Tahoe including bug fixes, security updates is macOS 26.2

No insight—

A SafeBoot Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support will sort many anomalies

Login and test. Reboot as normal and test. Caches get rebuilt automatically.

After the update of Tahoe 26.2 the UI link was destroyed. The Finder window is empty. Erased disk, reinstalled everything. Tried Tahoe 26.2 again, same result. There is a serious fault with this update.

Strange serious fault I haven't experienced on either of my two Macs running Tahoe.

What's a "UI link?"

What is the target of the Finder window which is empty. Should be in the Title bar.

reinstalled everything

Most likely you reinstalled the third-party system modification which is causing your problems.

You don't need to reinstall the OS. It cannot be modified. Did you try Safe Mode as linked by leroydouglas?
